As the daughter of a dairy farmer, I grew up living in areas of immense natural beauty, such as Maleny in the sunshine coast hinterland and Tongara, at the bottom of Macquarie Pass, at beachside Shellharbour and Braidwood in NSW. Nature continues to inspire my work which since graduating from art school has taken new directions. While surface design and sewing have always been part of my art practice, I now enjoy collaborating with nature: painting and drawing in the landscape and respectfully incorporating leaves, bark, sand, soil and plant fibres such as lomandra, into my art. As an artist I hope my work draws attention to the importance of caring for the natural world, for the future survival of the planet.
