Ann McMahon has worked variously in craft arts since the 1990's when she worked in custom designed millinery. After completing an honours degree in visual art (textiles), ANU, in 2000, she has worked professionally as a gallery manager, arts administrator, craft writer, educator, project manager and creative program officer in private, public and not for profit sector roles. Her craft practice sustains her creative spirt and focus technically on off loom weaving in both large and small scale. Her work is typically sculptural and expresses through the intersection of form and materiality. Her work is held in the collection of the Canberra Museum and Gallery.
